Canaan Primary School

In December 2007, Canaan Children's Home cleared the site and starting building the foundation to a school which would bring education to Canaan's children and to the entire community. Soon after that, Canaan Primary School's solid foundation was laid five feet into the ground. But more importantly, the school's educational philosophy was built on a solid biblical foundation: the sure knowledge that God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of life, and that He calls His people to live in the light of the Gospel with industry, integrity, and hope.

By the end of 2008, construction on Canaan Primary School's first floor was complete and classes for P1 through P4 were in session for several hundred students. By 2010, the second floor had been added and classes expanded through P7. Enrollment quickly grew to over four hundred students. Many are from Canaan Children's Home, but most are from the area surrounding the village of Buziika.

Looking ahead, the hope is that God will provide the resources necessary to construct and staff a secondary school. Canaan's leaders are confident that God is behind this work and that when these two structures are finally completed, children will be educated and inspired to become productive community leaders and good citizens. Please consider supporting this work with your prayers and resources. We can't thank you enough for your assistance. Please continue to pray that the Lord will reward those who have come to our aid as though coming to the aid of the Lord Himself.
