Canaan Children's Home

Mission Trip

Canaan Children's Home, an orphanage in Buziika, near Jinja Uganda, partners with teams looking for places to serve on church mission trips.  Volunteers find that in addition to being a blessing to the many orphans and children, they return blessed themselves.

Goals

A note from Pastor Isaac Wagaba:

"This is my vision for the Pastors Conferences.

Many pastors in the villages and the small towns in Uganda were not trained so much.  They really need much help  getting more skills.  Also many pastors were affected during Amin's regime.  When the church was banned, many people were killed for the sake of Jesus Christ, so the remnant are spiritually wounded.  They need to be refreshed spiritually.

So I feel that it would be good if I can mobilize the pastors in one place from the District. They come together for 3 days, we accommodate them and feed them in the same place.

Here's where you can help--You bring a team gifted in teaching who can strengthen them and refresh them spiritually."

TEENAGER & CHILDREN'S
CONFERENCES

I  got this vision in 1996 to strengthen my fellow pastors spiritually and also to see that our teenagers can be helped spiritually. We cannot forget our children. They are known as the foundation of the church. From 1996 until now I have been mobilizing pastors in one place for conferences. All of the pastors who have attended the conferences have been refreshed. I therefore need your prayers to see that I can continue with such a wonderful ministry to be facilitated with financial support and  that God will continue to send short term missionaries. In the same way our teenagers from different churches really need more Bible skills to know what they should do as Christian youth. As a result the churches of tomorrow will have good marriages, families, and church ministers. About our children also it is good to grow up if they know more about Jesus. When they are old they will not forget. What I would like to do is hold a big conference for all the Christian teenagers in one district during vacations, especially in January after Christmas. And maybe a different conference for the children 10 years old and under. In order to run the conferences, I would need to rent high school facilities, like dormitories, kitchen, dining hall, and meeting room. I would also need money for food. I therefore need you prayers and God's provision.
