Capital Projects

 PRIMARY SCHOOL!

Primary and Nursery School: This will work on land issues, construction, salaries for teachers and other staff for a year, school materials etc. 95,750,000/= $53,194.

Completion of Administration Building:  This project was started by Hal Johnson and Don Sears.

In August 2007, we received a donation of $8500 from Grace Fellowship church, donated towards the Administration Block, we used this money to do much work including Roofing, plastering inside, and windows and door frames.

 In November 2007, God has blessed us with a donation of $5000 from Grace Fellowship Church , and this was donated towards the construction of the Administration block. We thank God for this blessing, and it will help us do more work on the administration block. We have started more construction on the block and this money will help us finish plastering and other constructions on the Administration Building .

 We also Thank Kyle and Mae Wilson who also donated $500 for the construction of the Administration Block, and many others who have donated on the same construction work through Christian Aid which has also helped still in the construction work. We expect to use the administration for different offices and the upstairs will be used as a meeting hall and two rooms for accommodation.

Expand Farming Land to Sustain Children at Canaan:  There’s a piece of land next to our current farm land where there’s a community spring well.  Its 4 acres at the cost of 8,000,000/= (about $4,450) If we buy that land, it will enable us to grow additional need food for the children and may provide Canaan Children's Home with surplus which it could sell to meet other financial needs of Canaan.

Land for Primary and Nursery School at Canaan:  Another great need we see these days is to have our own primary and nursery school. 

We had negotiated to purchase a parcel of land next to our compound and close to the water main and electricity grid visible to the community, however, the owners attempted to double the price and to provide only a lease rather than a sale, therefore we will seek to locate another suitable parcel.  

Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

We now have 20,000,000 shillings/= (about US $11,111), through the generous gifts many who are supporting the Lord's work at Canaan Children's Home.  We will report back to you when we have completed our search and purchase of the place where God will prepare the way for us to have a school.   

When we begin our school, Canaan Children's Home will save money now being spent on school fees at St. Moses every term. Secondly, and more significantly, we avoid transportation costs, and the increasingly expensive fuel which we use every day to take the children.  The truck we have now is not enough for the children, they are squeezed so much, we over load it. Even if we are to buy a new truck, we shall need a bigger one because the children are grown and have doubled the weight.

Completion of Medical Clinic Construction:  Completion of the clinic, including the finishing the bathroom, painting, ceiling, electricity and water systems, 95,000,000/= ($5277)

Please pass our special thanks to all of the people who faithfully pray for Canaan, the children and our staff, as well as those who contribute to provide for these children, for those who have contributed towards our capital projects with special contributions and to UMAC for their efforts to make Canaan Children's Home a success.  We promise that as the income increases, we shall be faithful to do several things for the progress of Canaan. We hope by the time you come in summer, there will be much done.
